:The university reached a $125,000 settlement with Gaskell last month

Money-grabbing little superstitious shithead!!

“if a doctor's belief in the stork theory of reproduction is technically irrelevant to his competence as an eye surgeon, it tells you something about him," Dawkins wrote. "It is revealing. It is relevant in a general way to whether we would wish him to treat us or teach us."

LOL! Well said, Richard! Ain’t that a fact!

“He said he wants to work to encourage more Christians to enter the sciences.

Oh Christ, please spare us… :-)

There've been a number of these reverse-Galileo cases in recent years. One was the Guillermo Gonzalez case in Iowa. Gonzalez was denied tenure because of his association with intelligent design beliefs.

Gonzalez obtained a BS in 1987 in Physics & Astronomy from University of Arizona and his Ph. D. in Astronomy from the University of Washington in 1993 and has done post-doctoral work at the University of Texas, Austin and the University of Washington. He has received fellowships, grants and awards from NASA, the University of Washington, Sigma Xi, and the National Science Foundation.[1] He introduced the Galactic Habitable Zone concept.[2][3]

From wikipedia.

Another is the NASA / Coppedge case:
