Went to Atmel web site. They manufacture flash memory, flash cards, epprom, etc.

Looks like IOM is aliging themselves with Atmel. Maybe they want to design a device like the one we discussed on the thread yesterday - flash memory that downloads to a clik!- all in one unit.

But with SanDisk holding the vast majority of the market and with the major digital camera boys already lined up with SanDisk, it doesn't make sense. It the interest was one unit including flash/clik!, SanDisk alignment would have been a better choice.

IOM is stressing the cost aspect as we discussed, but they must be dealing with a flash component if they are "developing" solutions for digital cameras.
