I'm not sure where you got that figure but it is quite obviously wrong. I suspect you may be confusing "sales" with "retail sales". There is the fact that almost everyone already owns a copy for Windows, and many do NOT want the newer versions.

OTOH, Mac users are FORCED to buy it, because for many it is the only connection with the outside world.

MS doesn't have to sell Office for Mac, but that would not be a good business decision.

No, but were they to stop, it would be a huge problem for AAPL. MSFT has nothing to lose in selling Office for Mac, so I wouldn't think that's a threat.
