ANDROID is an OS. There is no Android company. Goog wrote and maintains Android but it is losing money on Android.

APPLE is a company that makes money.

So you are comparing the market share of a company to the market share of an OS.


Yes, that's correct. Because all of Droid-dem has taken market share away from AAPL, so that's the discussion we were having.

I do believe GOOG has now claimed to be making money on the Android operating system and they really are set up such that once BEP is hit there is very little marginal cost. It really is a totally different business model from Apple's.

19% of iOS users are considering another platform.

It seems logical that as Android OS's and compatibility problems increase with 3.0... and as the Android market fragments into different flavors of each OS...

discontent will rise.
