MSSQL really targets a different user base. Access is almost like single user while MSSQL is an enterprise level system. They just target different markets, really.

I hear you but the argument just doesn't make a lot of sense. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I just though maybe you had some special knowledge and I can't say I really know why they didn't move it anyway. I can assure you if the ROI were there, MSFT would not be hesitant in moving it just because of its user base on Windows, because that user base is practically gone except for 10/15 year old apps.
