re Smartphones - I agree that Smartphones are surprisingly powerful. I think they will supplement rather than cannibalize Computers and there is a chance that players find synergy in the two - well Apple does this already and Google to some extend too. I do think that the new Android based tablets will cannibalize computer (especially netbook) sales. They can do a lot of things better than a netbook (watch streaming movies/TV), play games and a great if you want to be mobile. They are a "consumption device" mostly but that is what most people do on the internet nowadays anyways.

Windows Mobile seems dead on arrival, although it is not a bad GUI per say, there are very little apps for it. Without apps, an operating system is worthless. I see no way how WM7 can catch up with Android and Apple.
