Achelis IMO might eventually have added foreign reads had Reuters not gobbled them up. Omega, even with their Dial/Data tie-in, published their read API.
Decoding XMASTER reads isn't much--Eary Adamy (CIS\Invforum) did it early.
I never had occasion to seriously use the Blue Sky lib to read the MS 255 data but used to diddle '*'s in and out of MASTER (or EMASTER?, it's been a while) for autoruns. Only had to tweak one--the other re-adjusted itself.
