so much software development is offshored. Why offshore if the US is King? I'm talking about innovative ideas -- the big picture stuff. You can always outsource the drudgery of coding. Left to their own devices, I very much doubt if India or China or Japan or Korea or (insert country of preference) could have rolled out a product like the iPhone or iPad, or even the IBM PC back in the day when it was all the rage. (Yes, those are hardware products, but it's the software that drives them.) -we-
