The Railroad Trilogy is arguably the best song he ever wrote, which is saying something ... it's quite famous up here, was no problem remembering it. <g>

As I recall, he was commissioned to write something for Canada's centennial in 1967, and came up with that ...

Yes ain't he grand :o).. and GL commentary spot on also..
I took the trip from Montreal to Vancouver once and Toronto to Vancouver once..
First on the cheap with my later to become wife in university daze.. and one on VIA (Train) miles in grand deluxe fashion with two kids in tow .. double room etc..

Both times it was what you saw that counted ... most enjoyable.. :O)
