I have had several companies, and have used several accounting firms, big and small and individual. Not one has ever advised me to illegally game the system. True that the occasional gray area deduction has gone in my favor at tax time, but each time it was thoroughly documented so as to have a rational defense if needed. Following the tax laws and having consistent standards has helped me sell businesses. Nobody wants to acquire a company where the owner has been illegally skimming.
