Yes, it's the depositing of cash now that's so tricky. Banks now have to report the interest they pay you on those deposits, thus creating a paper trail. This wasn't the case until the mid-80's, if memory serves.

My parents owned a string of carwashes. Cash was the only method of payment, ha. I used to help them cull out the quarters that had more silver in them, the ones in circulation prior to the change over to putting mostly zinc or bronze or whatever that is in them now. My 95 year old mom has lockboxes full of those old quarters.
