i'm sure there is a lot of cash skimming that goes on in 'cash' businesses like small restaurants, hair salons, etc....but again, the risk is inordinate for such small amounts....we had a new vendor who decided to do some some line business while keeping his 'day job' that we paid and 1099'd....he got his copy and he is upset because he has to report the income...left a couple of voicemail messages... NOT. MY. PROBLEM. i won't run the risk of even as much as one $100 fine for not issuing a 1099, can't even begin to imagine how stupid you must be to not to report income
