My wife and I were realtors for a couple of years. One house we showed was owned by an accountant. He had a small building in the back yard configured as an office.

So true! They weren't here long. I think they were more interested in seeing whether we did in fact have an office in the home. We didn't end up paying anything as we have always run a clean ship, but what a pia.

Maybe, but it doesn't matter as long as you take each deduction legally and have your ducks in a row paperwork wise.
