Chuckle. I thought perhaps I am the only one on the planet that didn't go for that lightscribe crap.

I use this app: WhereIsIt
whereisit-soft.com

I am quite anal when offloading. Rather a complex system but essentially I:
a) Group what I am offloading based on my system of numbering - prefixed by a letter ie M###; P###; A###; U### etc.
b) RAR everything - with specific size PER RAR file - so that I can maximize the DVD; (Wrote an app that takes ANYTHING and creates the rars). What is great is that everything smacks into each other. ie virtually ZERO waste.
I like RAR because (1) I can use DOS batch scripts and (2) it encrypts the names of the files on the directory (3) RAR creates multiple archives.
c) After RARing (I PAR2 it ~7-10% - store the pars on a separate disc) PARing provides protection should part of the disc go bad.
d) I burn the disc then load it via WhereIsIt
e) Write the number M001 onto the disc (using a Sharpie)
f) I use a Byte-to-byte comparison app to compare the Disc written to the data (using a 2nd DVD writer)
g) Throw the disc back onto the spindle.

If I ever need anything - I use WhereIsIt to tell me the range. ie M123-M125.

All sorted in order by number; grouped by letter. Simple simple simple - and ultra efficient. None of this writing a novel on the disc.

I waste enough time in my life - having to deal with lightscribe artwork would drive me nuts. Most of the above is a few basic keystrokes and the system automatically RARs & PARS which can take some time. Then when done I just offload one after the other.
