You don't have to join, that's the idea of a class action - a representative member of the class sues on behalf of the class.

I get class action settlement checks all the time, usually for technology products or this or that. $5 here, $5 there. :)

I might have one of those Enron checks myself. I seriously doubt it's worth the time it would take to investigate. I no longer get notices from the class action suit.
