If these rapes had taken place in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia, and unless there were witnesses willing to testify a rape occurred, there would be no punishment except for the female and her family (in the form of shame.) Perhaps the defendants in Abu Dhabi (all Bangladeshi) and Dubai (where the question is whether to employ female attendants on school buses to protect female children from these beasts) didn't have the proper amount of "witnesses" to collaborate their story?
