IMO, it would have been better for either Apple or RIMM or even HP to outright buy Nokia and give them their OS to produce devices. At current Nokia valuation and with $18 billion in cash, they are a steal for any of the above mentioned companies to gain massive market share and make a bigger name for themselves. And unlike POS Microsoft which has NO tablet strategy, all 3 of the above mentioned have tablets as well. Also add Samsung and LG to the list of buyers. For the life of me, hooking up with MSFT was a dumb decision for Nokia and the market clobbered them because of it.
