I'm fine with volatility in net-net and microcap type situations where market prices bounce around much more than any change in underlying company fundamentals. As long as the basic business remains sound, I have few worries. Price volatility leads to great trading opportunities , and if prices go down, I am happy buying more.

However, stocks that are heavily dependent on macro factors (such as miners) tend to result in some heartburn for me. A company's prospects can go from great to poor depending on the global factors beyond my control/understanding. This is especially true if the company has a lot of debt. I am usually not inclined to step up for large positions in those cases.
