My wife was an administrator and instructor at the local community college for 27 years before she retired... she constantly complained that the many freshman students couldn't read or write, that they graduated high school but were still illiterate... talk about dumbing down this country... and because it was a community college, these students had to be admitted for their first year, but many were quickly weeded out because they couldn't read the required material and failed and left after the first semester... this is frightening... and it's only going to get worse... GZ
