I agree, but are you aware of their similarity to the St. Gauden $20 gold.

And the St Gaud's are very liquid.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot. The Mexican gold, while aesthetically very attractive was introduced long after the St Gauds. Around 1920, I believe.
