<The sky is falling ...>
This is the biggest stupidity to hear right now ! It seems to me that you consider Asia to be the center of the world. Well, it is the most important as number of people, but NOT economically ! I think you are 3000 years behind, when China and India had a superior civilization than the Western World, which was not existant by then. Let me remind you this: the modern civilization is TECHNOLOGY, and USA dominates it across the board. Asia will not have the companies we have in the next 200 years. Because they are merely copying us. One thing they can NOT, and will not be able to copy: the AMERICAN SPIRIT, which comes from the freedom, respect for the individual as a person, and mostly, rewards the TALENT. We are at the dawns of extraordinary achievements in science and technology. And YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET ! This is just a psychic movement: the lower the market goes, the richer those who induced the psyche will get.

Even in the worst case scenario, of a total crash, that will be a non event. Only 3% of the American assets is the stock market. The rest is PEOPLE, their knowledge and talents. And when I say people I say QUALITY, not QUANTITY. Here, someone is measured by his/her qualities and character, is not just a number as in other parts of the world.

John:

You state:
> God save this world. The sky is falling. Everything is falling
> and nobody can stop it. Well, there is an 'absolute bottom' and
> I don't think we can fall thru that BIG ZERO.
> Sorry, pessimistic as usaul. (or realistic ?? maybe).

This reminds the 1989 event that happened during Oct-Dec. time frame. Does anyone remember that Korean priest in Los Angeles who told his followers the world would end by the last day of December 1989 at midnight? He then asked them to sell everything that had and to give the money to him because money meant sin and since he was a man of god he would take the sin from them and they all can go to heaven when the world ended on the last day of December 1989. Well if I recall correctly and from what I saw on TV, about 100 or so catholic followers of this priest were gathering aorund the church at midnight waiting for the world to end and going to heaven (after all they had given all their sins to that Korean priest). Midnight came but for some strange reason the world did not end! After about an hour of waiting they got up and went to the church to ask their priest what was causing the delay! It appeared to them that the priest had already gone to heaven with their sins (!) and left them behind! it is needless to say how upset they all became for being left behind!!!!

Interestingly about a week later LAPD found the Korean priest by the Mexican border! The sins he had collected from his followers had apparently disappeared to Korea (or maybe Mexico) - no one still knows! But the priest is currently in the LA county jail not to be released till year 2020 (at which time he may choose to go to heaven)!

After reading your Sky is falling speech I was just curious, were you one of those people who listened to this Korean Priest in 1989?!! Or were you in fact an assistant to the priest himself?!!

>Gordon, do China/India needs food or PC. Well, maybe with more PCs
>and more TVs then there will mean less time to crank up the
>population. You think those governments take care of
>'people' first or the 'pockets'

John, how can you still get such ideas? go to check how many chinese money from the mainland of china began to pour into california's real estate market (mainly on houses from individual), this is a only begining. I know nothing about India market. China sold almost 3 million PCs last year(had more than 50% growth) and still has not any signs of slowing down, this is probably more than total combinations of Southeast asia PC market, did you hear the messages for Intel that PC market are still strong in China and Taiwain?

>We have a problem. Needs smart people (not the politically
>correct people) to fix it. Certainly not by the people who said
>the right things to everything and get prize here and prize there.

Yeh, we have problems and these problem will not be solved in near future, the competitive advantages of China will not go away soon even that the currency of Southeast nations have devalued so much(down around 30%), we will see these problems falling on the countries like Taiwain, South Korea, Singapore in 2~3 years. The question is the strong economy growth in china can benefit others countries?
my answer is yes, you could see in past several years, countries like
Taiwain, South Korean have greatly increased their economic dependence on China market.
Don't be so pessimistic, sky is not falling(emotions is falling), at least you should know the chinese stock market is still in up trend.

Cheers
Gordon Shen

Japan is the indicator of things to come .... when their market hits 14000 then we'll see another sell off here and then the market including high techs will start back up.

IMO
