Unions negotiated the deals with MANAGEMENT that let those things happen, if they ever really did. You're assuming that unions are not responsible for the crap results they produce. Technically you'd be right. But ultimately they are indeed responsible for their own livelihood, and unless they shape up and actually produce to the level of their benefits, they'll continue to decline in membership and in political clout. And no one will care that unions once brought us higher standards for working people, because like I said, they're nothing more but special interest groups now. Tenchusatsu
