As noted, it all depends on what you do with your computer. I frequently communicate with clients, often scan hard copy docs into my computer files for organized filing or forwarding. I couldn't imagine not having color to highlight spreadsheets and reports that I both print or send in PDF. Faxing is not an important tool anymore, but some still use it if they don't have scanning ability. And if you do any photo printing a color printer is obviously necessary. I have saved much time, expense, and gas by having the copy feature included in my printer. I am certain cost per page with mono laser is substantially less, but I am more interested in presentation and appearance that can be produced with color.
