No, but....

A few years ago I was in New Orleans for a conference. Started chatting up a very attractive black lady on the street and curiosity got the best of me.

"There sure are a lot of nice mansions along St. Charles Street. When a black person sees them, do they see them as elegant symbols of a distinguished city, or as symbols of exploitation?"

She gives me a "You shittin' me?" look for a second, and calmly replies.
