replace our oil dependency with something more viable.

I'm listening.

Solutions exist - electricity via nuclear - synthetic fuel from coal, natural gas etc.

If we pushed an energy independent model based on national security we could do the following:

o Build out a wide spread infrastructure for natural gas
o Push natural gas and diesel
o Build synthetic fuel refineries (coal to diesel)
o Build 100 nuclear power plants

And as a bridge - drill, baby drill

Simply announcing this plan - with significant dates, funding and push would have the impact of killing the price of oil and destabilizing many of our enemies

The 'Greens' get in our way because they want perfect solutions (such as hydrogen with no way to produce it) and are invested in the anti-nuclear movement
