Funny (sad) thing is that a former boss of mine sold his (SoCal) house in late 2000 (thinking that SoCal property values were topping out), put all the proceeds into JDSU and Nortel while he quit his job and went to seminary school, and then lost about 75% in the stock market within a few months. He later reentered the job market, but his income has not yet regained its 2000 level.
