Hello All,

I've been following the thread for the last few days. I am looking to make an investment in the ERP sector. From what I have read, PeopleSoft seems to be the best investment at this time.

I would like to know your honest opinions on PeopleSoft at its current price of about $63. PSFT trades at a very high PE of 113 (according to Yahoo). I am trying to decide if this PE is justified by the prospects for growth. Please let me have your thoughts. I am a long term investor, meaning that I would most likely be making an investment for more than one year at the very minimum (unless something were to change my view of the company).

If you were considering entering the sector, would you purchase shares at this time? Or would it be preferable to wait until after the PSFT 2-for-1 stock split?

Besides simply the investment aspect of PSFT, I was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight into their products and competition. The competitors which I am also looking at as prospective investments are SAP and Baan. Has anyone here ever invested in either of these companies in addition to PSFT? What makes PSFT's products preferable to that of SAP and Baan? Why is PSFT more likely to succeed (therefore becoming a better investment)?

I would love to hear where people see both PSFT and the sector in general heading. Also, if anyone has some estimates for shares price of PSFT, please let me hear them.

Thanks so much.

Ian

Anybody notice that a "Strong Sell" just showed up this week in the Yahoo research page for PSFT?

quote.yahoo.com

I haven't seen any PR's, so I presume that it is a mistake. This would not be the first time I've seen a mistake on Yahoo's research stats for PSFT.

Or, Jalali has become an analyst!
