Yes, recalls are permitted.

There were hot heads from both sides there yesterday. One of the things very clear is that many people do not know much about what they are protesting for...and the news media fell into a labor trap.

The labor organizers there were doing everything they could to pump up the teachers, who at times acted as if they were at the farmers market which is held on that square every Saturday morning during the season. It was very casual...the prganizers had bull horns and would start chants...they are the most concerned about the money they could lose when workers cut their own checks monthly instead of having it deducted from their paychecks.

We had teachers take pictures of our signs and stop and talk to us and we had 4 yell at us during the whole day. This show down theme really is not there. When we left a restaurant, we yelled out Go Walker Go as we 3 of us were leaving and the restaurant group yelled back Kill the Bill, then laughed and clapped.

The unions are focusing on calling everyone else evil and making them the point instead of the issues. That is a common ploy.

One person with me is a CPA and there were signs about payscales being lower than the private sector and that 66% of companies do not pay taxes. Both are of course absolutely false, but people carrying those signs were handed them and knew nothing about it.

The Unions and the DNC have rented many buses and for that reason so many people are showing up. They are spending a lot of money on this.

Where the tea party versus union headline came from beats me. That just is not the truth. An 80 year old woman from Pewaukee showed up by herself. She walked through the crowd with her cane, bent over with scoliosis and she thanked us for showing up. She told me of her hardships and why she thought this was right to stand up for Walker. She was certainly not one of money...she has her opinion and it has nothing to do with politics, but of what she believes is right.

I really expected a different atmosphere there yesterday and believed that we would not have had such a nice time observing history in the making no matter how this ends up. The union of course did not want us there, and a few said leave, but when I pointed out that we were only excercising our rights too and do they not want to be heard too or should all of our rights be abolished, they did not have an answer for that and moved on.

Many signs reminded people that this was a peaceful demonstration and there was not one arrest. They crowds acted when they had the cameras on them...but this was light weight compared to Nam protests where people really were committed.

Hope this provides some insight as to what really is going on...the news reports are much more exciting, but unfortunately not true.

Thanks for the best wishes from a few posters yesterday.
