Mike ,, Jerome , thanks for the responses.. I was trying to figure,
cost wise, how the IOM product would compare with SNDK products..
Why would one think IOM has a better system ??
IOM= mechanical,NG bigger,NG more expensive,NG
motion sensitive,NG production cost can only drop so much,NG
waterproof,NG capacity,NG (SNDK will advance on capacity)
SNDK= opposite of all the above

I make it sound too easy to figure.. Where am I wrong ?? Shoot holes
please...............JW

Mike,
I've been following IOM for over 2 years now and I have to say that today's announcement was exactly what I was expecting (though I thought IOM might have secured a committment from Kodak to include Clik! in a camera or two).

My (nontechnical) take and impressions on Clik! I've always felt that Clik's best opportunity to become a de facto standard in a handheld device was with handheld computers and PDA's. PDA's are not subject to the same rough handling as digital cameras. Also, a disk that can be exchanged between other PDA's and with PC's just seems to make sense. The inclusion of a Clik drive should not add more than $100 to the price of a PDA (IOM has stated that external drives are going for $200 and internals to the OEMs for <$100). This price should come down as production volume increases. IOM will probably sell the drive to the OEMs at near cost because, for IOM, the money is in the disks.

As for digital cameras: I think that it is inevitable that camera manufacturers will include the drive in a select few digital cameras to test the waters. I also would be surprised to see Clik garner anything more than a niche position in the digital camera storage market for all of the reasons this thread has been stating (i.e., durability, SNDK's headstart, etc.)

I would also like to say that I am not here as a bear on SNDK or anything like that. As an IOM shareholder I like to visit competing companies threads to become more educated about my investment in IOM and its risks. I have been reading this thread for about a month now and decided to respond in order to share my thoughts and knowledge on Clik! and to see what kind of reactions/debate I get back - (Mauro) I'm not here to pick fights. I think that a key to investing in technology stocks is to remain as educated and objective as possible (and to have a very strong stomach!)

Best of luck to all,
-nk
