The way out for this is to have the Fed buy the debt.

Interest then is paid to the Fed, which returns most of it to the treasury.

Think this is silly or unlikely?

The Fed has just surpassed China as the largest "foreign" holder of US debt.

So, seems to me they are working on it.

Of course, it's a scam... And will be recognized as such... Only question is "when"?

I think sooner rather than later... Before 2020 IMHO, perhaps much sooner.

Obama would take it cooly... Not so the populace I would think.
