Is a US-Brazil Axis on the making to block China expansion? In 2007, according to Brazil's Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, quoting leaked U.S. diplomatic cables, senior Vale officials pointed to the Gabon incident in warnings to the U.S. ambassador in Brazil that China's growing influence in Africa threatened international markets.

Geithner was in Brazil to talk with currency "warrior" Mantega in preparation for Obama's visit next March.

Now: Sources in both governments said the proposal would also fund joint ventures to build infrastructure projects in other countries, mainly in Africa, where the United States and Brazil are both eager to limit the rising influence of Chinese companies.

Picture that: Brazil is telling the US: Get those freshly printed USD and spread them evenly in Africa to block China´s influence.
