If the Church (or her followers) were ever to tolerate sense and reason they could give no justification for their right to power and their privilege to dictate and to practice "moral" bigotry, exclusion, intolerance, and persecution of others outside of their mythological world view. Therefore, they must cling to hatred of reason at all costs. Tell them that Yahwee did not build the world in 7 days and that God did not create languages at the Babble Brook and that the sun did not stand still...and they will simply tell that the naked Emperor looks just wonderful in his new suit!! Hard to believe, hard to understand--but true! Humankind is PRIMITIVE. And that is just the way it is...
