You would only need to put the I/O plate in first (it will come with the motherboard). I forgot to do this before installing the mobo a couple of times and had to undo everything to get it put in. If you have plenty of working room you can install several parts before you put the mobo in. Install ram, cpu, and the heatsink. It's much easier to do these when you have lots of room, especially if you have large hands like I do.

I hesitated to jump in and build my first, but I had a buddy that could answer my questions. Once I got started I was amazed how really easy it was. If I can do it, anyone can.
