All,

I have the feeling that our friends at Iomega are not really trying to take on SanDisk directly. Most of the partners they list in their news release are into portable computers (HP, etc.). They mention the application of storing entire Microsoft programs for palm-top computers. That strikes me as something entirely different than capturing photographic images or telephone messages.

Also, this is one paragraph from their release that I find most interesting:

''We want the digital photography experience as accessible to consumers as traditional photography. Iomega's introduction of the clik! drives with access for our compact flash media is a major advance in this direction. These products will enable customers to take, use and store high quality digital pictures more easily.''

Jeff Peters, General Manager, Digital Imaging in Kodak's Digital Applied Imaging Business

It seems Kodak has no intention of replacing flash in their electronic cameras.

Anybody read this in a different way?

Jim

Your discription is correct Neil. I was just trying to make it simple.
