betty, I shorted CAT on the break down and he is nicely into stage 4, also shorted HWP and AOL. I am looking all over the place for stocks that are entering stage 4 and those that are basing in Stage 4 which could go south some more. It is never to late to short a stock. I also think it is important to use protective stops, and shorting on the NYSE give you an advantage to limit your losses if the market goes against your positions. I have a fair position shorted in AMZN, but this was a risk short like RMBS and had nothing to do with Stans recommendation for shorting.:-) I am also short SPY using that to protect my long term portfolio. Fortunatly I got out of all my foreign holdings before this mess, but BEN is a good short for protecting a foreign portfolio. Joan
