"Kirk, What "new tax cuts to everyone" are you talking about? I didn't know Obama gave anyone any tax cuts. I thought he was quite simply forced into not changing the Bush tax cuts. "

Ahhh... anyone WORKING and drawing a pay check got a NEW tax cut be it Warren Buffett or the gal who cuts my hair.

It was a STIMULUS disguised as a tax cut to get the GOP to vote for it.

EVERYONE has their Social Security "CONTRIBUTION" reduced by 2% so someone making $50,000 a year will take home $1,000 more for two years. I'm not sure what the upper level cutoff is for SS, but it is over $100,000... so the rich who are paid $1M a year also get their SS contribution reduced by 2% so they save over $2,000 a year. This is WASTED money...

For me, it proved once and for all the the whole idea of SS as a benefit we pay for is a fraud. (I've called it an illegal Ponzi scheme since I first started posting on the internet in the early 1980s with my HP150...)

SS is just another tax that the very rich don't pay at the same rate the middle class pay. Last year Obama took our SS contributions and sent them to the states to pay teacher, cops and other public worker salaries and benefits! MY CONTRIBUTIONS TO SS were not invested... while CALPERS (CA pension) contributions are invested for the workers... I'm pissed as hell that I paid MORE for this "contribution" to state workers than Warren Buffett and George Sorros as a percentage of my income.
