I agree with TS that Direct copper is not competitive with DUV. In fact, the movement to copper interconnect could help Cymer in the long run (many years). With Aluminum interconnect, there is diminishing payoff to reducing metal line widths to .25 micron and below (where DUV would be needed rather than i-line). This is due to Aluminum's relatively high resistivity. Copper's lower resistivity opens the door to .25 micron and finer line widths which could result in DUV being used on layers that it is not even considered for currently. I believe this is 3-4 years out however. A lot can change between now and then.
