I've found myself VERY, VERY angry the past few weeks. One reason is a company I helped build with new products that we did like a start-up with HP funding that grew into huge businesses... rewarded the people at the top while I know some still struggling who were there just before they IPO'd. This was long ago in the late 70s, 80s and 90;s.... After I left at the end of 1998, HP spun off Agilent which spun off Avago as a private company. The moneybags that bought the company cut R&D, retired many of the people who were my mentors who didn't want to retire... and cut anything else they could to make it look better to IPO. Long story short, the CEO, whom I never heard of from back in days we were inventing stuff that became this company.. exercised stock options the other day to the tune of over $32M! No risk and he got enough "reward" to pay a gaggle of engineers salaries.... finance.yahoo.com Look at all the money the "moneybags" that took the company private to strip out the value and run got too... I can see why the auto workers and bank tellers and others get upset when they are cut then see the people at the top who only shuffle money and don't really create... get the rewards. Of course I saw this in the early 1990s and learned to invest so I could leave... but it just makes me damned angry to see the lies we get from BOTH the effing frauds in the GOP and the frauds called Democrats... are all bought and paid for to reward their special interest groups while those of us in the middle that actually create value and pay taxes... PAY for it all. I see the government workers demanding they get retirements the rest of us don't get... just as greedy and WRONG as the rich and powerful who get millions... So many don't see that they both contribute large sums to politicians so THEY get to steal from the rest of us. I think the Tea Party is just the start... What happened in Egypt and WI will spread and it is probably a good thing but it will be painful .
