<<The real deal arrived in November. Apple will be swatted down, like a gnat, to a very small new sales market share in less than one year from now>>

We will revisit this in a year. I am sure that will be okay with you.

Um, is that something like the Zune? (VBG)

"Has Zune Finally Met Its Inevitable Demise?"

pcworld.com

Yes, I do own a shrink wrapped, collectors item, numbered 2 of 100, special edition, introductory pink Zune. With a fan letter and a signed photo from Bill Gates. I kid you not. I presume he owns #1.

Always figured - before I even contemplated buying it, way back when Softie made all that iPod killer noise with it - that it's like owning a shrink wrapped, mini pink Edsel.

Bids? (VBG)

>>This post should speak for itself. Like I said, the coming war isn't fair and it won't even be close. The real deal arrived in November. Apple will be swatted down, like a gnat, to a very small new sales market share in less than one year from now. There is an ARMY of DEVELOPERS marching TODAY. Its the very same folks who bring you the desktop applications that just about everyone uses every day. Where 90% of the developers in the world work today. Using the same tools, on the same desktop computers. Put in the most simple terms: The party is over for Apple. Hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. Steve will now suck every dime out of your pockets as quickly as possible while he can. Enjoy being molested.<<

I LOVE posts like this! I've collected a few dozen of them over the years. Each time I get one, I set an alarm in Calendar for the date referred to in the prediction, reminding myself to revisit the post.

In all my years of being a deluded fanboy, I've never failed to enjoy the results. I have occasionally noted these monumentally failed predictions in posts on the relevant thread, and sometimes not. I loved the one, about a year and a half ago, where the guy said Apple would start closing retail stores by the end of 2010, due to falling sales. But that same guy had other big misses, too.

See you next year about this.
