And PS: the Registry is a horrible hive of outmoded technology, prone to growing to enormous size as it collects obsolete and conflicting entries. It was a bad idea in the first place, and it hasn't gotten better with age. I say this as a guy who knows his way around regedit as well as you do, I'm sure. You'll get no argument from me on this. I went back to databases and ini files in %ProgramData% when all that LUA hive virtualization hit. MS locked it down so hard to make the OS rock solid secure that the registry is now a rather closed and unfriendly place. I feel like I'm wasting my time. Do you even have an inkling what any of this means? Please, explain how file and registry virtualization works. Oh yeah, Mac doesn't have security features. Sorry. Forgot. The first version of Windows I worked on was 2. Then 286. The first version of Apple I worked on was the Motorola 6502. II+ with 48K or RAM. Work at Merril Lynch in White Plains NY as a programmer. The Steve fcked us (Lisa), and then Steve fcked us again (Mac), and I was out before the last 3 or 4 complete OS bail f*ck jobs Steve pulled on his base. Forgive me if I'm jaded. And yes, I worked on the 286 too, NOOB.

But the point is that to use a Mac for business networks you have to get past the problem there simply aren't the applications available (I know. I have people call me all the time wanting me to port one of mine to Macs -- and I probably get 5x as many of those calls now as I did 5 years ago. Still, it isn't work the effort.)
