My opinion has nothing to do with it. The fact is, when there is a major news announcement, virtually all the analysts adjust their earnings by the end of the day. This is simply the way it is. What do you think, they just hang around and drink coffee until they feel like doing it? That ain't what they get paid $1 million a year with bonus for, my friend. If you want proof, the proof is in the fact that this is how it happens all the time.

And companies usually go to great lengths to explain that they do not make earnings estimates. But they do guide analysts by suggesting ranges in which they thing earnings will come in.

Anyway, you should either be happy that that you have learned two new things about investing today, or stubbornly stick to your mistaken view. I do not care either way. I am tired of talking about it, and I don't want to discuss the issue anymore.

Happy Investing!
