The most important news today was the AOL announcement: AOL Networks Announces Availability of US Robotics x2T Technology in 410 Cities. Until the Committee decides on the 56K format for modems USR is top dog in the home modem (410 cities) front. When this sinks in COMS may take off and the shorts will be in trouble. Whenever a stock is downgraded to a sell by a firm it means BUY. By the time they are embarrassed about one of their recommendations to tell you to sell, it is already oversold, and will cause some to sell some more on the announcement and then the stock IS RIPE FOR PURCHASE. A huge number of people (like me) bought the stock in the afternoon on the way up. The shorts will keep it going up.

Hi Andy, I learned years ago not to let fear or greed bias my stock selection process.(Maybe just a little bit!) I try to take advantage of big dips like this one. The only cloud is the time factor now until the CC and earnings report. That should clear up a lot of questions. Until then we will probably bottom near here. I've made good returns with this stock over the past. The only real question that I have is: Is the USRobotics merger hurting their long term game plan? We all have to have an iron stomach here.
