That's a mighty impressive ability your son has, it amazes me that even the citizens can read Japanese or Chinese. A local hostess was trying to teach me some Chinese the other day and finally wrote it all down on a napkin for me in english, phonetically and in chinese.....I must have a championship quality tin ear, cuz it was all greek to me.

Congratulations to him. He is a one in the million however.

I remember I used to know some people that were studying Japanese at Harvard that told me that it took 4 years hard studying just to be able to read a headline.

After I improve my French, Italian, and Portuguese, my nest language would definitely be Japanese. I became fascinated with Japanese watching the movie Lost in Translation.
