Ubuntu was killing me one time, every time it did a kernel upgrade, it would break the dual boot. It was eventually fixed, but it got old pretty quick. It's a little slower to boot, but you can now put Ubuntu on a thumb drive and but from it, never messing with your Windows computer. I can't tell a difference once it loads surfing the Internet. And if you enable "persistence" when you create it, it will save everything so you don't have to start from scratch each time. ubuntu.com
