30 is the right number. You need to just look at the open interest at the CBOT table on options.
That is the reason I bought speculative calls on ASND for DECember exp, ASND has faithfully met this number for last N expirations, remember the pop to 35 at last expiration?
I am skeptical that it will go there though, I read somewhere that the one characteristic of bullmarkets is that stock in general go up in the week toward expiration and then down a bear market does reverse.
Not sure of this is true will wait and see.
I agree that if it pops to 30 for expiration it is vulnerable and money can be made by selling it short.
