Thanks. That worked well to backup my CD music I've ripped so far onto 4 DVDs. The file system has a few issues.... not at all useful for finding stuff but I can drag and drop from the DVDs to a hard drive and restore the files easily.

I may buy it and use that instead of Windows7 backup because it allows me to save the files in uncompressed, regular format so I can check that the important stuff actually is backed up properly.

Have you tried many others or did it do the job well enough you've not looked for others?

It seems every external drive I buy comes with some form of backup but... I like something dependable.
