TJ, I have had a look around a little bit of China to see if I could spot some Virtuous Victorian Values. They were pretty thin on the ground.

While things are not perfect among the 6 billion surrounding China, life is not ideal among the 1 billion surrounded by those less than ideal places.

My vote is for Cyberspace. As you know, the value of Cyberspace has now far exceeded the value of many countries. The GDP of Cyberspace and Cyberspacoids is perhaps not yet as big as that of China but it's certainly more than that of Rwanda and Zimbabwe combined. Apple at $300 billion is quite a bit.

Julian Assange is a pioneer in that realm. There are swarming pioneers all over it.

You Aztecs think in terms like that British pirate Sir Francis Drake and the Conquistadors, squabbling over a zero sum game of found "wealth". At least they can pixelate more dollars, yuan and yen without having to dig the stuff up. But the fact of digging something up at great expense doesn't mean it has value. The dug up stuff only has value because it does something useful for people.

You think the dug up stuff is a time traveler's time capsule to carry them safely through the interregnum. While it's true that time travelling is often needed, with those attempting to make the journey being decimated each time, there's more than one way to time travel.

I have noted your love of Cyberspace and the devices which deliver than Utopia to you. The clamouring surge into Cyberspace is stupendous. You are not alone. It makes the Yukon gold rush look trivial.
