a lot of other people would be priced out of the market arena and a lot of inventions would be put to better use and space exploration shall become real what happened in usa and china and india over the past 600 years were just accidents, nothing more once the founding mythology is dispensed with, and the math reality held to be true, and upon chuck-away of global reserve currency 'level playing field', all else would happen with hardly a hiccup frankly i find the prospect frightening, because we in hong kong are experiencing the vector first-hand and find it overwhelming ... i.e. real estate just keeps rising without direct leverage visible, relentlessly, pricing many out of the market and keeping the 'already-in' from lightly selling out outsiders just keep coming, mowing down the careless and unfortunate locals, globalization cubed. recommendation: long canada, australia, au, ag, pd, pt, u, and ocean front real estate in lands where freedom remains true and liberty is genuine

do not worry about growth, for it must happen, and can be easily fueled by reducing here economist.com to enhance there economist.com by my reckoning, the timing for cross-over parity should be between 7 (2018) and 15 (2026) yrs from today, and once china abandons the usd at some point between 10 (2021) -20 (2031) years from today, then interesting things should become more apparent in the subsequent 10 (2031/2041) - 20 (2041/2051) years from today. some time between 2021 and 2041 the usa melting-pot population would be abandoning the usd as well. the earlier they do so the better off they would be. the only act more wasting than people living off of the natural resources of the land they occupy (i.e. saudi arabia, new zealand, etc) is people living off of printing a global reserve currency. some writers have likened usd t-bills to opium in so far as china is concerned. i think those writers got it wrong. usd t-bills is to usa as opium was to china. roughest macro big-brush guess, darkest interregnum should happen around 2025 +/-5, lasting possibly 10 years, and teotwawki dawn should be 2035 +/-5. we should start to sell down our gold (but not platinum) in calibrated way, starting around 2030, paced, until 2040. cheers, tj
