Garrick, having studied all of the networking technologies and followed many of the smaller players, I think I am up on most of this in a generalized way, certainly enough to evaluate investment decisions. I have followed the fiber channel companies; ANCR and all of those related, the gigabyte ethernet developments which ANCR joined, Network Peripherals with their fast ethernet, Fore and Cascade with ATM and Cascade with frame relay. Fastcom with frame relay for data and voice, ANET with frame relay for voice, all of the ADSL, HDSL and VDSL companies, the switched fiber companies; BBTK, ADTC, DIGI, etc., the cable company hybrid fiber companies HLIT and Ortel, the wireless networking companies; PROX (which is a great buy right now), WCII, the internet service providers UUNET, FRO, PSIX, and all the developments in those areas, AOL and all the craziness of trying to value that play without fundamentals that make sense but a gut feeling that is beyond reason and figures, the internet commerce plays CYCH, OMKT, the search engine companies, the database software companies and the hype and bust of Informix, the plunge and phoenix resurrection of Citrix, the great story of WIND, the scare in Checkpoint that only led to new heights, the CDMA stocks, Ortel again, QCOM, MOT and all the craziness of following and trying to make sense of MOT's strategies and backpeddling, semi companies, ADI and VSLI as two favorites, IPEC as a chip equipment company with no earnings but great technology, the confusion in the help desk stocks, all of the games the analyst's play with rates and reversals and predictions and over-reactions and selldowns in the techs repeatedly that ignore the fact that they are the US economy today in place of manufacturing, all the Fed worries and the never appearing interest rate rises and where is that inflation hiding and aren't we always worried worried worried, etc., etc, etc. I could go on and on. I have followed most of the tech companies extensively throughout the past several years. Through all of this mess of "facts and figures" I have tried to negotiate where to play my money. My current portfolio is started to be built for the next period into the future and ASND, WDC, COMS, AMAT are in it. I plan to keep accumulating more quality at low low prices. Does it sound like I don't have a clue?
