Welfare in the form of Medicaid, food stamps, aid to families with dependent children, and unemployment insurance are what have ballooned in the last two years by as much as 300 billion dollars/yr." Well, we're the (one of?) the wealthiest countries on Earth, do we WANT our poor elderly sick and indigents starving and dying in the streets? I say no. To me, that's a MUCH more important thing than the largest military on Earth and foreign wars. Government is all about choices.
